The Woodchute Trail is, in my view, hard but rewarding. It seems cold at first, but when you start moving, it seems to warm up. They have bear warnings on the way, but I started getting a little scared when a man walked by holding a rifle, who told us of a bear encounter up on the trail, but I never saw a bear.
The trail, had great views and fresh pine air. In all, the family rated it 7 out of 10 in difficulty. Some of the trail had views of the Mogollon Rim and the San Francisco peaks. When we got to the peak we had lunch.
