Day 7-A day at Harper's Ferry

Today we drove to Harper's Ferry which is the half way point for thru-hikers. Hikers go to the Appalachian Trail Conservancy and have their picture taken in front of this sign. We had trouble getting in front of that sign. We only hiked three day and we worried we weren't being respectful by standing there, but the thru hikers encouraged us to go ahead.

This is Bierberger, Lemon, and Fish. They are the real thing. They actually walked there from Georgia!

We have 12 meals left over from our hike so these hikers got some trail magic!

We didn't hike 500 miles, but it was enough to experience it the way the thru-hikers do! And we have alot more understanding of what they go through and how hard it is. A real learning experience...
And we also refused to walk more than 50 ft. to get to the building, or up an incline of more than TOTALLY FLAT!

Steve thought this was really funny considering the school background. Someone chopped this school bus down to transport hay. He thought that was a great idea.

And lastly, a picture of a photographer taking a picture of a sign. Go figure...
